The Career Service Center (CSC), project of HDCC brings together job seekers and job providers in the Hambantota district.  The main objectives of the CSC are to ensure that jobseekers have the necessary skills to find gainful employment and to place them in suitable jobs.  In addition it aims to help employers to fill vacancies and provide a suitable environment for the development of their trainees and employees.

In order to achieve these objectives, CSC maintains a database of jobseekers, provides a job placement and   counseling services, helps with writing CVs and refers jobseekers to training courses where appropriate.  The CSC helps employers to recruit suitable young people who are registered with CSC and provides a pre-selection interview service.  It also advises employers on providing the best environment for the development of their trainees and employees.

Annually, HDCC organizes a job fair, which is a forum for bringing together job seekers and job providers. This helps the district business community to fulfill its employment requirements.
