Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce established a CSC as a result of the impact of 1988/89 arm struggle initiated by the unemployed youth in the country. Misled youths attacked the businessmen and business establishments some of the business entire by destroyed. Business men killed. Businessman realized the importunacy of united action and   formed and association and became as first district level chamber in Sri Lanka. The chamber realized the importunacy of social responsibility to serve the society and developed its vision and mission  towards the economic development of the District.

To create productive employment opportunities for unemployed and under-employed youth through guidance counseling, skill development, and networking with employers and those who provide vocational training.
